Medicare Child Dental Benefits

Teen Dental Vouchers

Curran Dental participates in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), an Australian Government scheme formerly known as Medicare Teen Dental Vouchers.

The CDBS allows for eligible children under 17 access between up to $1095 in benefits over two calendar years for basic and preventative dental treatment.

You don’t have to register for the scheme, but you will typically be notified by Services Australia. To be eligible your child must meet the following criteria.

  • 0 to 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year

  • Eligible for Medicare

  • Getting a payment from Centrelink / Services Australia at least once a year, or have a parent receiving a payment.

At Curran Dental we Bulk Bill the Child Dental Benefit Scheme meaning there is no out of pocket expense.

FAQs

  • To qualify, your child needs to be between the ages of 2 and 17, be eligible for Medicare, and receive certain government payments such as Family Tax Benefit Part A. If you're not sure if you meet the requirement, we can check over the phone as long as you have your child's Medicare card details handy.
